FAMILY PORTRAITS

FOR FLOCKTOWN-KOSMANN PTA FAMILY PORTRAIT SESSIONS:

TIPS FOR A GREAT SESSION!

1. DON'T LET THEM SEE YOU SWEAT!
As hard as it is getting the entire family's clothing clean, ironed and coordinated, getting everyone showered, hair dew's done etc., don't let them see you sweat. We all stress working for the best portrait but as soon as the kids sense any of your tension they react, get fussy, cry and act out. Expect that something will throw your schedule off and roll with it as best as you can. It will appear in your portraits.

2. SHOW UP 10 MINUTES EARLY FOR YOUR TIME SLOT
Please arrive 10 minutes early, you will need some time to think about your packages and photo

3. PLAN AHEAD - MAKE A LIST AND BRING IT
We will be taking your print order directly following your portrait session so please plan ahead with your portrait needs and bring your list. Remember to pre measure wall sizes.
See the list below, feel free to print and bring it with you.

4. WHAT TO WEAR?
Coordinate colors, don't feel like you have to match. Keep true to your style. Portraits tell a story of us. You can mix and match colors but be sure they coordinate. Examples:
Navy, denim guys, denim, blues pinks girls.
Cream, oatmeal, blue, cargo tan, denim.
Grey's and denim.
Keep true to a style, google family portraits and use what you like as your guide.

Stay away from all white or all black.

Look at your home decor and decide if soft natural colors fit your home or if bright colors are better.

Accessorize with necklaces, bows, ties or anything that shows off your families personality.

Limit patterns I enjoy having outfits with a mix of colors  however not everyone should wear patterns as they distract from your final image. That said - patterns under solid sweaters can work for one or two subjects. One patterned dress or shirt will be a delicate touch.

Plan ahead a dry run is always good to be sure there are no wardrobe malfunctions the day of the shoot.

Have back up - it is always a good idea, accident's happen and kids rebel. Bring it with you incase  you get opposition, I always tell kids I will take one picture with the clothes mommy wants then one with your's ok? While we will not be changing this always settles their minds and helps the portrait session go smoother.

Say "NO" to characters - decal's and t-shirts are distracting in a portrait, they can also date an image.

Wear what you love and feel good in. If you don't love yourself in your outfit you won't love your portrait!
